The Blue Room Brasserie now avows more European ideas though has certainly left room for a touch of Asian influence. This shows in a variety of ways and adds interest. With careful navigation through the menu there should be no difficulty in building an attractive meal from, say, the straightforward grills and more ambitious dishes such as the five-spice roast breast of duck with egg noodles, pak choi, spring onions, black-bean dressing, sweet chilli sauce and crisp won tons. Service is cheerful and effective and the wine list shares its favours between New and Old World with admirable clarity and equality.

I liked the Blue Room - my first visit to Sheffield in four years: it's smart without being pretentious, even if mushy peas has morphed into a fresh-tasting pea purée in this upscale part of south Yorks. Great fish and chips to go with it - crisp batter, piping hot - angel-hair pasta with tiger prawns which, judging from their give, had swum the good life, and some comforting, brunchy American imports.

Fine dining enjoyed in classy surroundings, the Blue Room Brasserie is a buzzing basement restaurant offering an alternative for those who wish to celebrate in style, or just fancy a touch of class. The Anglo-European dishes offered on the menu may not be extensive, but are very well considered and offer something for everyone.

One of Sheffield’s most popular restaurants, there’s a good ambience to this restaurant, which has won much acclaim. An unqualified success from the minute it opened, the Blue Room caters for anyone’s palate and purse with an eclectic menu.

This restaurant is one in a million and adds that little touch of class to Sheffield. If you are ever in the Woodseats area or even in the city, this restaurant should be visited.

I think that the blue room is the best restaurant in Sheffield by a mile and go there every chance I get!

Wonderful. The service was the best I've ever experienced. We weren't really aware of the staff at all, but somehow the glasses stayed full and the food appeared!
