Blue Room Brasserie, Woodseats, Sheffield's favourite restaurant

Head chef and owner Christian Kent welcomes you to the Blue Room Brasserie, voted Sheffield’s Restaurant of the Year 2005*, thanks to a combination of great fresh food, excellent wine cellar and friendly atmosphere.

The Blue Room Restaurant was opened in April 2001 by Christian Kent after moving back from London. He originally trained under Ian Greer and Kevin Woodford at Granville College (now Castle College). He gained thirteen years experience working in London at Claridges, where he was the youngest Sous Chef and was quickly promoted to running the main restaurant kitchen, which is now run by Gordon Ramsay's team. He then went on to the Savoy where he worked with Anton Edelman. He also did consultancy work for Sir Benjamin Slade and Robin Birley, of the Goldsmith family.

The food at the Blue Room Brasserie is described as Anglo European with an influence of Eastern cuisine.

“Our aim at the blue room brasserie is to offer an entirely different restaurant experience, catering for all tastes and wallets. We serve simple food, beautifully cooked. Whenever possible, our ingredients will be supplied by the finest of Sheffield’s family run food retailers. With a wealth of traditional fine dining experience and a modern day approach, we hope to bring a little taste of the London lifestyle to the city.”

The Blue Room Brasserie is a restaurant that caters for all occasions - regular diners, small and large parties, corporate functions, events, graduation parties and prom nights, weddings, christenings, funerals, birthdays and anniversaries. The Blue Room can seat up to 120 people at one time so a great venue for weddings. A private room is also available. Ample car parking available too.

The opening hours are: Tuesday to Thursday 6.00pm - 9.30pm, Friday & Saturday 6:00pm - 10:00pm, closed Sunday & Monday but can open for private parties, events and functions - please enquire 0114 255 2004.

Booking is not always necessary but it is recommended that you do to avoid disappointment especially at weekends - please call 0114 255 2004. We accept cash, cheques, credit or debit cards (except American Express).
